CAP: 0.3 - 1cm wide. The cap is broadly convex and is pale brown to dirty grey in colour with a paler margin. It is faintly striate when moist. STIPE: Up to 30mm in length. Grey and covered with a viscid slime, hence the English name of this species, The Dripping Bonnet. GILLS/PORES: Arcuate and becoming strongly decurrent. White. FLESH: White, thin and fragile with no odour or taste. SPORES: Narrowly ellipsoid, strongly amyloid and white in the spore deposit. HABITAT: On needle beds under conifers and scattered on small sticks or branches of conifer wood. Quite frequently found on old Rubus branches. SEASON: Occassional. April to November. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
